Latin name - Polyommatus icarus

Flight period – May to October.

Wingspan – 2.9 to 3.6 cm, 1.1 to 1.4 inch.

Description - The male has bright blue uppersides, the female is primarily brown, with a highly variable amount of blue. The undersides are grey or brown with numerous white-ringed black spots and orange marginal spots.
