Latin name - Pseudopanthera macularia

Flight period – May and June

Wingspan – 2.3 to 2.8 cm, 0.9 to 1.1 inches.

Description - A highly distinctive, day-flying species, which is reasonably common in the south of England and Wales, as well as Ireland. It occurs more sporadically further north into Scotland.

It inhabits woodland and scrubland, and the larvae feed mainly on wood sage (Teucrium scorodonia).

Speckled Yellow
